Abstract

Parallel abstract (English)
The Piper PA-44 Seminole airplane is one of the most frequently used training and private multi-engine aircraft on the market due to its simplicity and reliability. The airplane’s powerplant (engine and propeller), with all of its important subsystems, is described using text, schemes and graphs. One of the main theses of this paper is airplane operation with special emphasis on powerplant operation during all flight phases (take-off, climb, cruise, descent and landing) and ground operation (preflight check, engine start, taxi and engine shut-down). Pilot training program is shown on the example of the training in the Croatian Aviation Training Center, where the final phase of a pilot's multi-engine training is conducted on Piper PA-44 airplane.
