Abstract
Željeznica se smatra transportom budućnosti. Kao takva, ona mora zadovoljavati određene kriterije od kojih je najvažniji sigurnost prometovanja. Ovaj rad ima za cilj pobliže opisati kako se određenim elektroničkim signalno-sigurnosnim uređajima postiže najviša razina sigurnosti prometa vlakova u određenom međukolodvorskom području. Signalno-sigurnosni uređaji su dio prometno-upravljačkog i signalno-sigurnosnog podsustava. Obrada će također uključivati i usporedbu između dijelova signalno-sigurnosnih uređaja (brojača osovina) koji su trenutno ugrađeni na određenim dionicama u Republici Hrvatskoj te na koji način oni direktno sudjeluju u definiranju sigurnosne razine prometa. Istraživačka metodologija je uključivala sveobuhvatnu analizu dostupne dokumentacije, razgovor sa relevantnim stručnjacima iz ovog područja te izlaske na teren. Zaključci ovog rada su potvrdili kako je najvišu razinu sigurnosti prometovanja vlakova moguće postići uporabom tehnologije koja je obrađivana.

Railway is considered to be the transport of the future. Accordingly, it has to meet certain standards of which the safety is the most important. This Thesis aims to describe how the highest safety level can be achieved in the interstation area by using electronic railway signalling equipment. Railway signalling equipment is part of control-command and signalling subsystems. This Thesis will also include the comparison between the parts of signalling devices (axle counters) which are currently implemented on certain sections of the railway track in Republic of Croatia and in what way they directly participate in defining the safety level of railway traffic. Research methodology included full scale analysis of available documentation, conversations with relevant experts from this field and on-site investigation. The conclusions of this Thesis confirmed the fact that the highest safety level can be achieved with the use of the mentioned technology.
