Abstract
Pneumatik je jedina dodirna površina cestovnog vozila sa podlogom. Mora osigurati određeni broj funkcija sigurnosti poput usmjeravanja, elastičnosti, podnošenja opterećenja, prijenosa sile, izdržljivosti itd. Prilikom vožnje dolazi do promjene dodirne površine između pneumatika i podloge. Velika elastičnost pneumatika i plina unutar njega omogućuju mu da podnosi opterećenja nastala preprekama ili neravninama na cesti. Prianjanje je rezultat djelovanja adhezijskih sila i sile trenja. Sile se javljaju između kontaktne površine pneumatika vozila i površine po kojoj se vozilo kreće. Prianjanje omogućuje vozilu da ubrza, usporava i skreće sigurno. Nije konstantna veličini već ovisi o mnogo faktora. Sposobnost prianjanja vozila uvelike ovisi i o težini koja djeluje na kotače. Povećanjem težine povećava se i sila trenja.

The tire is the only contact area of road vehicles with the ground. It must provide a number of security features such as routing, elasticity, load carrying, transfer of force, endurance and so on. While drivin there is a change of the contact area between the tire and the surface. Great elasticity of tires and gas within it allows him to tolerate the loads created by obstacles or uneven road. Adhesion is a result of adhesion force and friction force. The forces are occurring between the contact surfaces of tires of the vehicle and the surface on which the vehicle is moving. Adhesion allows the vehicle to accelerate, slow down and turn safely. It is not a constant size, but it depends on many factors. The ability of the vehicle to grip greatly depends on the weight that is acting on the wheels. With increasing weight increases the frictional force.
