Abstract
GSM mreža u telekomunikacijama predstavlja 2. generaciju prijenosa informacija. Arhitektura GSM mreže je složena i sastoji se od MS-a, GMSC-a, BSS-a, HLR-a, VLR-a koji zajedno usklađenim radom obavljaju usluge prijenosa informacija. Sustav bazne stanice (BSS) ima ulogu uspostavljanja, prespajanja i raskidanja poziva. Fizički i logički kanal ključni su za prijenos informacija putem određenih vremenskih okvira. Usluge podržane u GSM mreži su prijenos glasa, SMS, prijenos podataka, usluge na temelju lokacije itd. Erlangov B model najznačajniji je model kod prijenosa glasa (telefonskih sustava), a pomoću njegovih tablica i formula izračunava se potreban broj prijenosnih kanala.

GSM network presents 2. generation of information transfer in telecommunications. GSM network architecture is very complex and consist of MS, GMSC, BSS, HLR, VLR which together perform the transmission of the information. The system base stations (BSS) has the role of establishing, switching and interrupting calls. Physical and logical channel are essential for the transmission of information by certain time frames. Services supported GSM network in the transmission of voice, SMS, data, services based on location ect. Erlang B model is the most important model for voice transmission (telephone system), and using it's tables and formulas calculates the required number of transmission channels.
