Abstract
Ovim radom se ukazuje na utjecaj izvedbi kočionih sustava osobnih vozila na njihovu trajnost. Kočioni sustav osobnog vozila mora zadovoljavati zahtjeve što kraćeg puta zaustavljanja te biti pouzdan. Kočioni sustav u svakom trenutku mora bezprijekorno raditi kako bi mogao usporiti i zaustaviti vozilo uslijed bezopasnog zaustavljanja kod crvenog svjetla semafora ili kod intenzivnog kočenja kako bi se izbjegla neočekivana opasnost. Naglasak rada je na usporedbi izdržljivosti bubanj i disk kočnica kod osobnih automobila tj. usporedba trajnosti pojedine izvedbe kočnice. Rad je koncipiran u nekoliko cjelina. U uvodu je opisana važnost kočionog sustava i način njegovog aktiviranja. Druga cjelina objašnjava kinematiku i dinamiku kočenja te dužine puta kočenja kod slobodnog i intenzivnog kočenja. Treća cjelina opisuje princip rada kočionog sustava dok se u četvrtoj opisuju svi elementi kočionog sustava. Peta cjelina opisuje moderne sustave koji se ugrađuju u vozila zbog sigurnijeg kočenja i upravljivosti vozila. U šestoj cjelini je objašnjen način kontrole i održavanja kočionog sustava. U sedmoj cjelini je opisana trajnost kočionog sustava s obzirom na način izvedbe. U osmoj cjelini, tj. zaključku je kratak prikaz te analiza relevantnih informacija prikazanih kroz čitav rad.

Parallel abstract (English)
This paper refers to the impact of the design of passenger vehicle braking systems on their durability. The braking system of a passenger vehicle has to meet the criteria of the shortest possible stopping distance, reliability, stability and maneuverability during braking. The braking system has to function seamlessly in every moment in order to decelerate and stop the vehicle during normal stopping, or during intensive braking, in order to avoid unexpected danger. The main focus of the paper is a comparison of disk-type and drum-type brake durability in passenger cars, i.e. a longevity comparison of each brake type design. The paper describes the importance of a breaking system and its activation path and explains kinematics and dynamics of free and intensive braking. The working principle of the stopping system is given and all of its elements are described. Furthermore, modern systems implemented in vehicles for safer braking and to better their maneuverability and stability are pointed out. After the method of controlling and maintenance had been explained, its durability resulting from its design was analyzed. A short preview and analysis of relevant factors demonstrated by this paper is given in the conclusion.
