Kroz prikaz načina rada, podjelu računalnih mreža i osnovnih mrežnih protokola prikazani su temelji mreže svih mreža, Interneta. Ipak, sve veći broj mrežnih uređaja unosi dodatnu nesigurnost kao i nestabilnost same mreže te ih je poželjno nadzirati kako bi se povećala dostupnost mreže, a i samih mrežnih uređaja. Through the presentation of the mode of operation, the division of computer networks and basic network protocols, the foundations of the network of all networks, the Internet, are presented.
