Abstract

Pomorskim prometom, kao transportnom prometnom granom, preveze se najveća količina robe, koja zbog svojih karakteristika nudi najnižu cijenu prijevoza po jedinici tereta. U skladu s time godinama su unaprjeđivani kapaciteti trgovačkih brodova što je dovelo do povećanja samih brodova, a shodno tome i njihovih pogonskih postrojenja. Najčešće pogonske jedinice današnjih brodova su dizel motori. Zbog svojih dimenzija te karakteristika goriva koje upotrebljavaju ekološki su neprihvatljivi i imaju poprilično štetan utjecaj na okoliš. Tijekom razvoja novih pogonskih strojeva i tehnologija, u prošlosti se nije vodilo računa o njihovom utjecaju na okoliš, dok je danas situacija drugačija te se veliki napor ulaže u razvoj ekološki prihvatljivih strojeva i tehnologija za brodske pogonske sustave. Usporednom analizom različitih brodskih pogonskih sustava prikazano je koji brodski pogonski sustav predstavlja optimalno rješenje glede isplativosti, ekološkog aspekta te namjene broda.

Abstract (english)

Maritime transport, as a transport branch, transports a large amount of goods, which due to its characteristics offers the lowest price of transport per unit of cargo. In according to the fact, the capacities of cargo ships have been improved over the years, which has led to an increase in the ships themselves, and their propulsion systems. The most common propulsion units today are ships with diesel engines. Due their dimensions and characteristics of the fuel they use, they are environmentally unacceptable and have a rather harmful impact on the environment. During the development of propulsion systems and technologies, in the past their impact on the environment wasn't taken seriously, while today situation is different and big effort is invested in the development of environmentally friendly machines and technologies for marine propulsion systems. A comparative analysis of different marine propulsion shows which marine propulsion is optimal solution in terms of costeffectiveness, environment aspects and purpose of the ship.
