Abstract

Kod analize prometnih mreža i sustava, koristan alat koji može poslužiti za rješavanje kompleksnih problema gradskih sredina je geografski informacijski sustav (GIS). Bilo da se radi o izgradnji nove infrastrukture ili da se postojeća infrastruktura optimizira na najbolji mogući način, GIS alati mogu poslužiti za prikupljanje informacije, analizu, rješavanje problema te grafički prikaz dobivenih rezultata. Softverski alati temeljeni na GIS-u mogu dati jasnu sliku postojećeg stanja prometnog sustava, te ukazati na potencijalne probleme i opasnosti. Postoje razne platforme temeljene na GIS sustavima koje su dostupne svima i mogu poslužiti za osnovne operacije planiranja i upravljanja prometnim sustavom.

Abstract (english)

Useful tool for solving of the complex urban area problems and analysis of the road networks and systems is Geographic Information System (GIS). Whether there is a need for the new infrastructure or optimazation of existing one, GIS tools can be used for collecting data, analysis of collected data graphical representation of results. With GIS tools, one can visualise condition of existing traffic system and clearly see potential problems and threats. Today, there are various available GIS based tools and softwares that can be used for simple public transport planning and organizing of the traffic systems.
