Abstract
Operacije produženog doleta odnose se na svaki let u kojemu je dvomotorni zrakoplov udaljen od alternativnog aerodroma na ruti za više od 60 minuta pri brzini krstarenja s jednim motorom u otkazu. Današnji zrakoplovi imaju mogućnost biti i po 3, pa čak i 5,5 sati u zraku u slučaju otkaza motora ili nekih od glavnih sustava na zrakoplovu, a što se razvojem još efikasnijih mlaznih motora može produžiti. Glavne prednosti operacija produženog doleta oĉituju se u skraćivanju postojećih ruta, manjoj potrošnji goriva i emisiji stakleničkih plinova te manjim operativnim troškovima. Otvaraju se i rute između gradova koji prije nisu mogli biti povezani zbog nedovoljnog broja alternacija na ruti. Proizvođači zrakoplova i motora te zrakoplovne kompanije moraju ispuniti stroge zahtjeve kako bi dobili odobrenje za operacije produženog doleta. Prilikom analize učinkovitosti na odabranim rutama koristio se zrakoplov Boeing 777, kao takav i dizajniran za operacije produženog doleta, gdje su prikazane uštede i učestalost otkaza motora u letu za različite vrijednosti odobrenog produženja doleta.

Extended time operations apply on twin engine aircraft on routes with diversion time more than 60 minutes from alternate airport at one engine inoperative speed. Modern aircraft have possibilities to fly at least 3, even 5,5 hours after experiencing engine failure or main aircraft systems failure, which can be increased by developing more efficient jet engines. The main advantages of extended time operations can be seen by shorter routes,decreased fuel consumption, less greenhouse gas emissions and decrease in operating costs. New routes are being opened between places that could not be connected before due to insufficient number of alternate airports on these routes. Aircraft and engine manufacturers and airlines have to meet strict requirements to get their extended time operations approval. Boeing 777, which was designed for extended time operations, was used when analyzing efficiency on selected routes where savings and in-flight shutdown rate for various extended time operations approvals were presented.
