Abstract
Zaleđivanje sustava za usis zraka na zrakoplovima predstavlja vrlo veliku, realnu i teško primjetnu opasnost koja može dovesti do ozbiljnih posljedica ako joj se ne pristupi pravovremeno i ispravno. Mnogi zrakoplovi i piloti doživjeli su nezgode upravo zbog zaleđivanja sustava usisa zraka. Sustav za usis zraka je vitalan dio za rad zrakoplovnog motora jer je za izgaranje unutar motora uz gorivo potreban i zrak. Nakupljeni led unutar sustava može dovesti do začepljenja dovoda zraka i potencijalno katastrofalnih posljedica. Kako bi se ta mogućost smanjila, konstrukcijski je ugrađena mogućost grijanja usisnog sustava pomoću ispušnih plinova u cilju sprječavanja stvaranja leda i mogućeg topljenja leda ukoliko se zaleđivanje dogodi.

Icing of air intake system on aircrafts represents highly realistic and difficult to recognize danger that can lead to serious consequences if it’s not addressed correctly and on time. Many aircraft and pilots have had accidents due to intake icing. Air intake system is vital part of internal combustion engine because it is necessary for the explosions inside the engine. In event that air is not delivered to engine, explosion cannot take place, and the engine will stop. That would be one of the worst case scenarios that pilot can imagine. Due that possibility it is necessary to give special attention to this problem, because ice build-up can lead to air cut-off which could lead to catastrophic events. In order to reduce that possibility, construction solutions based on intake heating by exhaust gases to prevent icing and to melt any ice build-up if necessary.
