Abstract

Tema sigurnosti cestovnog prometa iznimno je važna kako u svjetskom kontekstu tako
i u Republici Hrvatskoj. Prisutnost prometnih nesreća i njihovih tragičnih posljedica zahtijeva
sustavni pristup u rješavanju problema. Jedan od ključnih faktora koji doprinose prometnim
nesrećama je nepropisna i neprilagođena brzina. Ona ostaje uzrok većine nesreća i smrtno
stradalih osoba na cestama. Svako vozilo ima sposobnost postizanja određene brzine, koja
često nije u skladu s propisima ili... More uvjetima na cesti, što može rezultirati prometnim nesrećama.
Nesreće uzrokovane prekomjernom brzinom često imaju ozbiljne posljedice, stoga je nužno
provesti detaljnu analizu tih događaja. U sklopu analize prometne sigurnosti, posebna pažnja
se posvećuje brzini vozila kao ključnom čimbeniku u nastanku nesreća. Ovaj rad analizira ulogu
brzine vozila u prometnim nesrećama s naglaskom na kontekst Republike Hrvatske. Svrha ovog
rada je dublje razumijevanje uzroka prometnih nesreća uzrokovanih nepropisnom ili
neprilagođenom brzinom vožnje. Stoga je imperativno da svi relevantni subjekti koji su
zaduženi za sigurnost cestovnog prometa djeluju sustavno i zajednički kako bi se riješile
negativne posljedice tog problema i sveli ih na minimum. Kroz kontinuirano educiranje vozača,
strožu primjenu propisa, poboljšanje infrastrukture te primjenu novih tehnologija poput
sustava nadzora brzine, moguće je postići daljnje poboljšanje sigurnosti u cestovnom prometu.
Međutim, ključno je da se ovi napori nastave i da se nastavi podizati svijest o važnosti sigurne
vožnje kako bi se smanjio broj nesreća i stradalih osoba na cestama, kako u Republici Hrvatskoj
tako i širom svijeta. Less

Abstract (english)

The topic of road traffic safety is extremely important both globally and in the Republic
of Croatia. The presence of traffic accidents and their tragic consequences requires a
systematic approach to addressing the issue. One of the key factors contributing to traffic
accidents is speeding, which remains the cause of the majority of accidents and fatalities on
roads. Each vehicle has the capability of reaching a certain speed, often not in accordance with
regulations or road... More conditions, which can result in traffic accidents. Accidents caused by
excessive speed often have serious consequences, thus it is necessary to conduct a detailed
analysis of these events. As part of the traffic safety analysis, special attention is given to
vehicle speed as a key factor in the occurrence of accidents. This paper analyzes the role of
vehicle speed in traffic accidents with a focus on the context of the Republic of Croatia. The
purpose of this paper is to gain a deeper understanding of the causes of traffic accidents
caused by speeding or inappropriate driving speed. Therefore, it is imperative that all relevant
stakeholders responsible for road traffic safety act systematically and collectively to address
the negative consequences of this issue and minimize them. Through continuous driver
education, stricter enforcement of regulations, infrastructure improvements, and the
implementation of new technologies such as speed monitoring systems, further
improvements in road traffic safety can be achieved. However, it is crucial that these efforts
continue and that awareness of the importance of safe driving is continuously raised to reduce
the number of accidents and fatalities on roads, both in the Republic of Croatia and worldwide. Less
