Abstract
Digitalni sustav je sustav koji informaciju predstavlja pomoću niza logičkih 0 i logičkih 1. Kako bi digitalni sustav funkcionirao, uvedena je Booleova algebra prema engleskom matematičaru George Booleu (19. stoljeće). Osnovne Booleove operacije su: konjunkcija, disjunkcija i negacija. Primjer digitalnih sustava su kombinacijski i sekvencijalni logički sklopovi. Kombinacijski logički sklopovi su sklopovi kojima stanje izlaza ovisi o ulazu, dok sekvencijalnim logičkim sklopovima stanje, osim o ulazu, ovisi o prethodnom stanju. Služe za obradu podataka. Ovisno o upravljanju impulsima takta sekvencijski sklopovi mogu biti asinkroni i sinkroni. Kako bi došlo do procesiranja podataka u računalu, potrebno je raditi operacije zbrajanja, poluzbrajanja i množenja.

Parallel abstract (English)
Digital system is a system that presents information using a sequence of logical 0 and logical 1. In order to function into digital system was introduced Boolean algebra, by English mathematician George Boole (19th century). The basic Boolean operations are: conjunction, disjunction and negation. Example of digital systems are combinational and sequential logic circuits. Combinational logic circuits are circuits which output state depends on the input and sequential logic circuits situation, except the entrance, depending on previous condition. They are used for data processing. Depending on impulses clocking sequential circuits can be asynchronous and synchronous. In order to process the computer, it is necessary to do the operation of addition, half-adding and multiplication.
