Abstract

With the modernization of public transport it is necessary to select the system of transportation that will function with the least difficulties and limitations. Public transport to the technology, the right of way and the type of services can be divided into: railway, bus and paratransit. Railway transport is the land transport which takes place in certain lines or stripes. Commuter railway is a type of sub-system adapted to mass railway passenger transport in the region or metropolitan areas to urban centers.Transportation with light railway is currently the most popular form of public railway transport and this system is a combination of trams, subway and urban-suburban railway. The remaining sub-station is the metro. Metro is very isolated overground-underground public transport subsystem within the city. The most common form of transport in Croatia and in the world is the bus. Transportation is carried out with different types of buses, such as minibus, standard bus, double-decker bus and articulated bus. Paratransfer differs from railway and bus because it runs as needed and does not follow a steady course and permanent schedule and is therefore referred to as a ride to order. Types of paratransfer are taxi, jitney, carpool.
