Abstract

Građani Velike Gorice prate trend razvijenih europskih gradova i sve više prometuju biciklom. Najčešće u rekreativne svrhe bicikliraju na 40 kilometara izgrađene biciklističke staze na području grada. Osnovni problem biciklističke infrastrukture u Velikoj Gorici je necjelovitost biciklističke mreže, osobito onih dijelova koji povezuju centar grada s okolnim naseljima. U okviru završnog rada provedeno je istraživanje na prigodnom uzorku od 257 ispitanika s područja Grada Velike Gorice. Cilj istraživanja bio je utvrđivanje stavova o biciklističkoj infrastrukturi i navika samih biciklista. Unatoč nedostacima, Velikogoričani i tamo gdje uvjeti nisu idealni, uglavnom voze bicikl po prometnim pravilima. Ulaganje u biciklističku infrastrukturu i održavanje iste, kao i prometna kultura te poznavanje znakova i propisa preduvjet su za zadovoljstvo i sigurnost biciklista, ali i svih drugih sudionika u promet. Tome treba težiti svaka gradska vlast i svako suvremeno društvo.

Abstract (english)

The citizens of Velika Gorica are following the trend of developed European cities and are increasingly cycling. Most often, for recreational purposes, they cycle 40 kilometers of bike paths in the city area. The main problem of the cycling infrastructure in Velika Gorica is the incompleteness of the bicycle network, especially those parts that connect the city center with the surrounding neighbourhoods. As a part of the final thesis, a survey was conducted on a convenience sample of 257 respondents from the area of the City of Velika Gorica. The aim of the research was to determine the attitudes about the cycling infrastructure and the habits of the cyclists themselves. Despite the shortcomings, the people of Velika Gorica, even where the conditions are not ideal, mostly cycle according to the rules. Investing in cycling infrastructure and maintaining it, as well as traffic culture and knowledge of signs and regulations are a prerequisite for the satisfaction and safety of cyclists, but also all other participants in traffic. This is what every government and every modern society should strive for.
