Abstract
Implementacijom naprednih telematičkih rješenja na autocestama ostvaruje se primarni cilj prometnog sustava, a to je sigurnost prometa. Informacijsko – komunikacijske tehnologije uz napredna telematička rješenja kao što su upravljanje priljevnim tokovima i upravljanje ograničenjem brzine uvelike pomažu u rješavanju prometnih problema, kao što su: prometno zagušenje, incidentne situacije, onečišćenje okoliša, potrošnju goriva i slično. Postojeći projekti koji primjenjuju ITS pristup pokazuju da se intenzivno radi na povećanju prometne sigurnosti. Prometni sudionici mogu biti obaviješteni o trenutnim uvjetima na prometnici, putem informacijsko – komunikacijskih tehnologija, ali i putnim i predputnim informiranjem. Za rješenje problema koji su svakodnevica na autocestama, pristupa se primjeni telematičkih rješenja kao tehnologijama koje predstavljaju budućnost prometnog sustava, a u svrhu boljeg informiranja i zaštite vozača.

The implementation of advanced telematics solutions on the motorways is achieving the primary objective of the transport system, and that is traffic safety. Information - communication technology with advanced telematics solutions such as managing the inflow streams and managing the speed limit control, greatly help solving traffic problems, such as traffic congestion, incident situation, environmental pollution, fuel consumption and similarly. Existing projects that apply ITS approach shows that there is big attention dedicated for increasing traffic safety. Traffic participants can be informed about current conditions on the road, through the information - communication technology, as well as on - trip and pre - trip informing. To solve the problems that exists everyday on the highways, there is approach to the application of telematics solutions as technologies that represent the future of the transport system, in order to better inform and protect drivers.
