Abstract
Tematika diplomskog rada vezana je uz upravljanje sigurnošću prometa na dionici autoceste primjenom promjenjivog ograničenja brzine prikazanog na promjenjivim prometnim znakovima. S obzirom na izrazitu ovisnost razine sigurnosti o stupnju poštivanja ograničenja brzine, koja su prikazana na promjenjivim prometnim znakovima, istražen je stupanj poštivanja ograničenja brzine od strane vozača. U radu je utvrđena mogućnost utjecaja promjenjivog ograničenja brzine na harmonizaciju brzina vozila u prometnom toku na autocesti. Utvrđene zakonitosti primijenjene su u sklopu definiranja sudarnog potencijala, pri čemu je rad usmjeren na koeficijent varijacije brzina kao jednog od najvažnijih čimbenika funkcije sudarnog potencijala. Vrijednosti koeficijenta su dobivene iz računalnih simulacija prometnih tokova na autocesti u ovisnosti o stupnju iskorištenosti kapaciteta autoceste i stupnju poštivanja promjenjivih ograničenja brzine od strane vozača. Na temelju simulacijom određenih vrijednosti koeficijenata varijacije brzina, izvedena je njihova usporedba i utvrđena mogućnost utjecaja promjenjivih ograničenja brzine na sigurnost prometnog toka na dionici autoceste.

Thesis is related to the management of safety on freeway section by the application of variable speed limits that are displayed on variable traffic signs. Considering the extreme independence of the safety level on degree of driver compliance of variable speed limits, driver compliance of variable speed limits is explored. The paper identified the possibility of the impact of the variable speed limits on vehicle speed harmonization on freeways. Identified independence has been applied as a part of a crash potential, where the focus of the paper is on the coefficient of variation of speed, which is one of the most important parts of the crash potential function. Coefficient values are obtained from computer simulations of the traffic flow on the freeway section, depending on the capacity utilization and the level of driver's compliance of introduced variable speed limits. Based on the values of coefficients of variation of speeds that are obtained from simulations, their comparison has been made, and the possibility of variable speed limits on freeway traffic safety has been established.
