Abstract
Sigurnost prometa jedan je od najvećih problema današnjice. Svakodnevno se u prometu događa velik broj prometnih nesreća koje često završavaju tragičnim posljedicama, odnosno gubitkom ljudskih života. Da bi se zaštitili ljudski životi, sigurnost prometa potrebno je podignuti na najveću moguću razinu. S ciljem povećanja sigurnosti cestovnog prometa i prometa uopće, razvijene su moderne tehnologije koje znatno smanjuju broj prometnih nesreća. To se u prvom redu odnosi na sustav stabilnosti i kočenja vozila zbog kojih se događa najveći broj prometnih nesreća. U suvremenim vozilima ugrađeni su elektronički sustavi koji pomažu vozaču da u kritičnim situacijama izbjegne nesreću. Računalo ugrađeno u vozilo na temelju senzora koji su smješteni na različitim dijelovima vozila, dobiva podatke o stanju kolnika, načinu vožnje, atmosferskim prilikama i potencijalnim opasnostima. Na osnovu tih podataka računalo može u djeliću sekunde ispraviti nepažnju vozača ili njegovu reakciju učiniti bržom i sigurnijom.

Traffic safety is one of the most serious problems nowadays. Every day there are numerous traffic accidents, which often end with tragic consequences, i.e. the loss of human lives. In order to protect human lives, traffic safety should be raised to the highest possible level. With the aim to increase the safety of the road transport and of transportation in general, modern technologies, which enable the decrease of the traffic accidents, have been developed. That is mostly related to the system which controls vehicle stability and braking, which represent the main cause of the most accidents. Modern vehicles are equipped with the electronic system, which represents important tool in critical situations by assisting the driver to avoid the accident. Built in computer system in the vehicle receives the data on road conditions, driving mode, climate conditions and other potential risks, based on the sensor reading at various parts of the vehicle. Using these data, the computer system is capable to correct driver’s inattention in split second timing and make the driver’s reaction to be faster and safer.
