Abstract

Momenti tromosti nekog tijela, primjerice letjelice, ključni su parametar njegove dinamike jer predstavljaju mjeru otpora rotacijskom gibanju. Što je letjelica tromija, teže će biti započeti, ali i zaustaviti njezinu rotaciju. U radu je prikazana metodologija teorijskog i eksperimentalnog određivanja vrijednosti momenata tromosti pravilnih geometrijskih tijela, te vrlo jednostavna metoda određivanja momenta tromosti nepravilnih tj., složenih predmeta na primjeru bespilotne letjelice s rotacionim krilom. Eksperimentalna metoda određivanja momenata tromosti tijela temelji se na principu bifilarnog njihala i mjerenju perioda njihanja. Za potvrdu ispravnosti postavki njihala najprije se testira podudaranje poznate vrijednosti gravitacijskog ubrzanja s dobivenom vrijednosti nakon uvrštavanja izmjerenog perioda. Sljedeći korak je eksperimentalno određivanje momenata tromosti geometrijski pravilnog tijela - drvenog kvadra poznatih dimenzija. Tek nakon potvrde da su metodom dovoljno točno određeni momenti tromosti drvenog kvadra, provodi se eksperimentalno određivanje momenata tromosti bespilotne letjelice s rotacionim krilom. Rezultati testiranja momenata tromosti bespilotne simetrične letjelice mase 292 g, pokazali su kako su momenti tromosti oko longitudinalne i poprečne osi gotovo identični, dok su najveće vrijednosti dobivene za moment tromosti oko z osi.

Abstract (english)

Moment of inertia of a specific body, say an aircraft, is a key parameter of its dynamics, because it represents the amount of resistance required to counteract angular motion. The more the aircraft is inert, the harder it is to start and to stop its rotation. This thesis shows the methodology of theoretical and experimental determination of moments of inertia for regular geometric bodys, and a fairly simple method used for irregular and complex bodys, such as a rotary wing unmanned aerial vehicle. The experimental method is based on a principle of a bifilar torsional pendulum and its measured swing periods. First, the known values of the gravitational acceleration and the measured values are compared, in order to confirm the accuracy of the pendulum. The next step is experimentally determining the moment of inertia for a regular geometric body, in this case a wooden cuboid. After confirming the method is accurate, using the wooden cuboid, it can be proceeded to determining the moment of inertia for a rotary wing unmanned aerial vehicle. The results of the experiment on a rotary wing unmanned aerial vehicle, with a mass of 292 g, showed that moments of inertia around longitudinal and lateral axis are almost identical, while the moment of inertia around the vertical z axis has the highest values.
