Abstract

Simulacije u prometu koriste se kada postoji potreba za evaluacijom tehničkog rješenja ili
ponašanja prometnog sustava bez da se intervenira izravno u sustav. Potonje iziskuje velika
financijska sredstva i predstavlja veliki tehničko-tehnološki problem. Simulacije daju
rezultate temeljene na pojednostavljenom modelu realnog sustava. Takav program je i
MATSim koji omogućuje evaluaciju promjena unutar cestovne prometne mreže u svrhu
poboljšanja prometnog odziva i ponašanja prometnog sustava bez potrebe da se
eksperimentira na stvarnom sustavu. U sklopu ovog rada istražene su mogućnosti
simulacijskog programa MATSim kako bi se uvidjelo kako i gdje ga je dobro primijeniti.
Također je napravljen i primjer simulacije koji sadrži objašnjenje korak po korak radi
olakšanja procesa stvaranja nove simulacije.

Abstract (english)

Traffic simulations are used when there is a need for evaluation of technical solutions or the
behaviour of traffic system without needing to intervene directly into the system itself. The
latter is usually connected with significant costs and represents a technical or technological
problem. Simulations give results based on a simplified model of a real system. MATSim is
one such software and it enables evaluation of changes made in a road traffic network with
the goal of improving traffic systems or parts of it. In this thesis MATSim is examined and
tested in order to see what this program should be utilised for and where will it have the best
performance. The thesis contains also a simulation example including a step by step tutorial
about how to create a new simulation.
