Abstract

Pojam emulacija predstavlja tehniku eksperimentiranja čija je glavna funkcija oponašanje funkcioniranja nekog sustava i njegovih komponenti u stvarnom vremenu i kontroliranom okruženju, a sustav na koji se najčešće primjenjuje eksperiment emulacije jesu računalne mreže. Softversko/hardverske komponente koje omogućuju eksperiment emulacije nazivaju se emulatori. U teorijskom dijelu rada prikazane su i opisane osnovne karakteristike i arhitektura računalnih mreža te funkcije, mogućnosti i primjena mrežnih emulatora u funkciji računalnih mreža. U praktičnom dijelu rada izvršen je eksperiment emulacije na tri relevantna mrežna emulatora IMUNES, CORE i GNS3 te su analizirani i uspoređeni načini rada istih.

Abstract (english)

The term emulation is a experiment technique whose main function is to imitate the functioning of a system and its components in a real-time and controlled environment and the system most frequently used by the emulation experiment is a computer network. Software / hardware components that allow emulation experiment are called emulators. Theoretical part presents the basic characteristics and architecture of computer networks as well as the functions, possibilities and application of network emulators. In the practical part, three relevant emulators called IMUNES, CORE and GNS3 were analyzed and compared and emulation experiment was performed by them.
