Abstract
Usluge temeljene na lokaciji (LBS) predstavljaju informacijske usluge odnosno aplikacije koje su dostupne preko mobilnog uređaja spojenog na komunikacijsku mrežu kako bi se takav uređaj mogao locirati. LBS usluge se mogu bazirati na temelju zatraženih informacija (PULL based) gdje se krajnjem korisniku dostavlja zatražena informacija kao što je lokacija najbližeg restorana, ili usluge mogu biti bazirane na temelju nametnutih informacija (PUSH based) kao što su lokacijsko ciljani oglasi. LBS zahtjeva šest komponenti: korisnički program (aplikacija) davatelja usluga, mobilnu mrežu za prijenos podataka i zahtjeva za uslugom, davatelja sadržaja koji opskrbljuje krajnjeg korisnika sa geo-specifičnim informacijama, korisnika, mobilni uređaj krajnjeg korisnika te sustav za pozicioniranje odnosno za lokaciju korisnika. Pristup LBS aplikacije osobnim podacima zakonski je dopušten samo u slučaju odobrenja korisnika. Kako bi se LBS aplikacija uspješno realizirala potrebno je pratiti određene poslovne modele. Istraživanja su pokazala da se korištenjem LBS aplikacija primjenom Galileo sustava (koji je u fazi razvoja) postiže veća preciznost nego primjenom ostalih navigacijskih satelitskih sustava (GPS, GLONASS).

Location based services represent applications that are available through an IP-capable mobile device, so that such device can be located. LBS services can be PULL based, which means the end user is provided with the useful information, like "Where is the nearest restaurant?", or they can be PUSH based (delivering marketing information). LBS requires six components: service providers, application, a mobile network for data transmitting and service requests, a content provider (supplies the end user with a geo-specific information), the end user's mobile device and position-based system. Location based services, by law, must be permission based. In order to successfully realise LBS, certain business models must be followed. Recent studies have shown that with using LBS applications which implement Galileo system (still under construction!) greater accuracy can be achieved than with using other navigational systems (GPS, GLONASS).
