Abstract
Intermodalni transport je tehnologija kojom se u prijevozu robe istodobno koriste dva suvremena i odgovarajuća transportna sredstva, iz dviju različitih prometnih grana, pri čemu je prvo transportno sredstvo zajedno s teretom postalo teret za drugo transportno sredstvo iz druge prometne grane, s time da se transportni proces odvija najmanje između dvije države. Uspjeh svake luke, pa tako i luke Koper koja se bavi prekrcajem tereta, ovisi o njihovim kapacitetima te o količini prekrcanog tereta. Stoga je potreban visok stupanj mehanizacije i organizacije, a u skladu s tim luka mora ostati konkurentna na tržištu prijevoznih usluga. Luka svojim korisnicima pruža sveobuhvatnu logističku podršku. Danas luka Koper ima dvanaest terminala: kontejnerski terminal, auto i RO-RO terminal, generalni teretni terminal, terminal s rashladnim skladištima, terminal za drvnu građu, terminal za suhi rasuti teret, terminal sa silosnim postrojenjima, terminal za ugljen i željezne rude, terminal za tekuće terete, stočni terminal za prihvat kruzera.

Intermodal transport involves the transportation of freight using multiple modes of transportation (rail, truck, ship), whereby the first transport mode together with freight becomes freight for the second transport mode, and the process takes place between at least two different countries. The success of each port, including the Port of Koper which provides logistics services and cargo handling, depends on their capacity and amount of loaded cargo. This requires a high degree of mechanization and organization, and in accordance with port has to remain competitive on the market of transport services. The port provides its users a comprehensive logistics support. Today, Port of Koper is structured from twelve terminals: container terminal, car and RO-RO terminal, general cargo terminal, reefer terminal, timber terminal, dry bulk terminal, silo terminal, alumina terminal, iron ore and coal terminal, liquid cargoes terminal, livestock terminal and cruise terminal.
