Abstract

Bicycle traffic is spreading more and more asway of everyday traffic and takes up an increasing percentage in overall modal distribution of trips around the cities of Europe and in the world. City of Zagreb is also trying to follow modern trends as large and developed cities, so requests for extending the cycling infrastructure are becoming more common and more necessary. By encouraging non-motorized modes of transport in combination with other types of public transport are supporting well-being, quality of lifestyle, reducing air pollution and using personal vehicles. By analyzing the current situation, interviewing passengers and traffic counting of the existing infrastructure certain zones were adopted conceptual designs. Based on these solutions aims to expand and optimize existing networks and to encourage users on integrated way of transportation.
