Abstract
Zračni promet jedan je od ključnih segmenata europskog gospodarstva podržavajući trenutno oko 5 milijuna radnih mjesta. Zračni promet na globalnoj razini znatno raste, a za daljnji napredak europskog zrakoplovstva potrebno poboljšati povezanost s drugim kontinentima i državama. Tijekom posljednjih desetljeća tržište Europske unije je integracijom fragmentiranih nacionalnih tržišta transformirano u jedinstveno i najveće otvoreno zrakoplovno tržište u svijetu. Daljnji napredak i razvoj zrakoplovstva ovisi o mnoštvu faktora.

Parallel abstract (English)
Air transport is one of the key segments of the European economy by currently supporting approximately 5 million jobs. The significant growth of air traffic at the global level indicates the need for further progress of the European aviation to improve connections with other continents and countries. Over the past decade the EU market transformed into a unique and largest open regional aviation market in the world through a process of defragmentation and integration of national aviation markets. Further progress and development of aviation depends on a variety of factors. The EU Member States and many countries which depend on providing flights within the EU must define the legal and regulatory basis and conduct the planning for developing all segments of the aviation sector, of course, with an emphasis on safety and security. Aviation strategy unifies standardized objectives that are defined by all involved stakeholders, and are considered as necessary steps towards the further enhancement of air traffic in Europe.
