Abstract
Promatrajući stalan trend povećanja prometa dovodi u pitanje kako održati učinkovitost ATM sustava na prihvatljivoj razini. Jedan od načina kako to ostvariti je podizanjem učinkovitosti sve tri njegove sastavnice i poboljšanjem zajedničke suradnje kroz zajednička pravila i smanjenje ograničenja na većem prostoru kao što je to zračni prostor Europe. Hrvatski zračni prostor kao dio europskog zračnog prostora ima bitnu ulogu u tranzitu prometa iz zapadne i srednje Europe prema jugoistoku Europe te stoga dolazi do većeg prometnog opterećenja u ljetnoj sezoni na prometnim tokovima kroz određene sektore. Iz tog razloga je bilo potrebno osmisliti rješenje koje bi umanjilo opterećenost na tim sektorima. Kao rješenje navedenog problem uveden je novi centralni sektor u hrvatskom zračnom prostoru čija je uloga bila rasteretiti dva najopterećenija sektora, sjeverni i zapadni sektor. Kroz simulacije i analizu pokazalo se da je centralni sektor zbog velike količine prometa postao preopterećen te da njegova uloga bi bila znatno umanjena bez dodatne sektorizacije samog centralnog sektora ili pronalaženja alternativnih prometnih tokova kroz hrvatski zračni prostor.

Observing the constant trend of traffic increase brings out the question, how to keep ATM system performance at acceptable level. One of the ways how to achieve this is by raising performance in his three parts and by improving common cooperation through common rules and lesser constrains on larger space such as like airspace of Europe. Croatian airspace as a part of European airspace has an important role in traffic transit from west and middle Europe toward south-east of Europe and because of that there is an increase in traffic load in summer season on traffic corridors through certain sectors. For that reason, it was needed to come up with a solution that would alleviate load in that sectors. As a solution of this problem new central sector was implemented in Croatian airspace whose role was to lower the load in two most loaded sectors, north and west sector. Through simulations and analysis, it has been shown that because of great amount of traffic, it has become overloaded and that his role would be diminished without additional sectorization of central sector or finding alternative traffic corridors through Croatian airspace.
