Abstract
Svrha ovoga istraživanja je dati pregled osnovnih čimbenika koji se moraju uzeti u obzir pri planiranju javnoga gradskog prijevoza. Javni se gradski prijevoz planira i projektira da bi se zadovoljili zahtjevi putnika, operatera i urbane zajednice za postizanjem maksimalnog prijevoza, niskih operativnih troškova i pozitivnih učinaka koji utječu na standard. Visoka kvaliteta javnog gradskog prijevoza privlači veći broj putnika, a na nju utječu optimalna pokrivenost područja stajalištima javnog prijevoza, laki transferi i odabir oblika mreže linija javnog gradskog prijevoza. Udaljenosti između stajališta moraju se aritmetički povećavati u smjeru kumulacije putnika. Prosječni razmak između autobusnih stajališta je 800 m, dok bi na prigradskoj željeznici vlak trebao stati svakih 3000 m. Međulinijski (po tipu linije ili po duljini intervala) i vremenski utvrđeni (s jednim ili više središta) transferi omogućuju putnicima brzo kretanje različitim linijama javnog gradskog prijevoza. Geometrijski oblik javnoga gradskog prijevoza planira se obzirom na lokalne, geografske i kulturne uvjete.

Parallel abstract (English)
The purpose of the study is to provide an overview of the main factors which need to be considered when planning public transportation. Public urban transport is planned and designed to meet the demands of passengers, operators and urban communities to achieve maximum transport, low operating costs and positive effects which affects the standard. High quality public transport attracts a higher number of passengers, and is affected by the optimal coverage of the area by standpoints, easy transfers and selection of the geometrical shape of public transportation. Distances between standpoints have to be an arithmetical increase in the direction of the cumulation of passengers. The average distance between the bus stops is 800 m, while the commuter train should stop every 3000 meters. Interline (by type or line according to the length of the interval) and time-specific (one or more centers) transfers are allowing passengers to move quickly to different lines of public transportation. Local, cultural and geographical conditions also need to be considered when planning geometrical shape of public urban transport.
