Abstract

Terminali ukapljenog prirodnog plina (Liquefied Natural Gas - LNG) predstavljaju
važnu ulogu u opskrbi energijom, s ciljem smanjenja troškova i povećanju fleksibilnosti
u distribuciji plina. Same prekrcajne operacije na terminalima omogućavaju transport
ukapljenog prirodnog plina između raznih regija svijetom. Prekrcajne operacije
uključuju složene procese prekrcaja, skladištenja i ponovnog ukapljivanja, što zahtjeva
visoku razinu efikasnosti i sigurnosti pri obavljanju. Tehnološki napredci i
automatizacija imaju bitan utjecaj na optimizaciju prekrcajnih operacija, tako što
smanjuju vrijeme prekrcaja i moguće rizike povezane s rukovanjem prirodnim plinom.
Ekološki aspekt je također bitan, s obzirom na potrebu smanjenja emisija stakleničkih
plinova i povećanjem energetske učinkovitosti. Ključna je koordinacija između
različitih sudionika, uključujući operatere terminala i brodare, kako bi cijela prekrcajna
operacija bila nesmetana i sigurna. Svrha ovog završnog rada je detaljno analizirati
prekrcajne operacije na terminalima ukapljenog prirodnog plina. Cilj rada je pružiti
sveobuhvatan pregled i razumijevanje ključnih faktora koji utječu na efikasnost,
sigurnost i održivost prekrcajnih operacija, s fokusom na tehničke karakteristike i
tehnološke procese, zakonske zahtjeve, mjere sigurnosti i zaštite okoliša te
ekonomske pokazatelje poslovanja takve vrste terminala.

Abstract (english)

LNG terminals play an important role in energy supply, aiming to reduce costs and
increase flexibility in gas distribution. Transshipment operations at LNG (liquefied
natural gas) terminals enable the transport of liquefied natural gas (LNG) between
various regions of the world. These operations involve complex processes of
transshipment, storage, and re-liquefaction, requiring a high level of efficiency and
safety during execution. Technological advancements and automation have a
significant impact on optimizing transshipment operations by reducing transfer time
and minimizing potential risks associated with handling natural gas. The environmental
aspect is also crucial, considering the need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and
increase energy efficiency. Coordination between various stakeholders, including
terminal operators and shippers, is key to ensuring that the entire transshipment
operation is smooth and safe. The purpose of this thessis is to analyze transshipment
operations at LNG terminals. The goal of the thessis is to provide a comprehensive
overview and understanding of the key factors affecting the efficiency, safety, and
sustainability of transshipment operations, with a focus on technical characteristics
and technological processes, legal requirements, safety and environmental protection
measures, and economic performance indicators of LNG terminals.
