Abstract

Ovaj rad analizira utjecaj duljine paketa na performanse internetskog čvora, s fokusom na
ključne parametre poput: vremena čekanja, duljine reda, kašnjenja i iskorištenosti poslužitelja.
U tu svrhu,simuliran je M/M/1 model sustava posluživanja u Matlab programskom alatu. Kroz
različite scenarije (duljine paketa) prikazano je kako se sustav ponaša u različitim uvjetima
opterećenja. Dobiveni rezultati su analitički razmotreni i detaljno opisani, kako bi se pojasnile
promjene stanja sustava kroz različite vrijednosti ključnih parametara.

Abstract (english)

This paper analyzes the impact of packet length on the performance of an Internet node,
focusing on key parameters such as: waiting time, queue length, latency and server utilization.
For this purpose, the M/M/1 model of the serving system was simulated in the Matlab
software tool. Through different scenarios (packet lengths), it is shown how the system
behaves under different load conditions. The obtained results were analytically discussed and
described in detail, in order to clarify the changes in the state of the system through different
values of key parameters.
