Abstract

Cestovni promet značajno doprinosi emisiji buke u urbanim sredinama, što ima ozbiljan
utjecaj na okoliš i zdravlje ljudi. Glavni izvori buke uključuju zvuk motora, ispušnih sustava i
guma pri kontaktu s cestom, pri čemu teža vozila i veće brzine proizvode intenzivniju buku.
Regulatorne mjere i tehnološka poboljšanja, kao što su nisko bučne asfaltne površine i tihi
kočioni sustavi, ključni su za smanjenje razina buke. Međutim, provedba tih mjera često se
suočava s izazovima poput nedostatka jedinstvenih metoda za procjenu buke i varijacija u
kvaliteti podataka. Kako bi se učinkovito smanjila buka uzrokovana cestovnim prometom,
potrebno je koordinirano djelovanje na svim razinama – od zakonodavnih i regulatornih mjera
do urbanog planiranja i primjene novih tehnologija. Iako postoje pozitivni primjeri, kao što su
redizajn urbanih ulica i razvoj tihih vozila, dugoročno rješavanje problema buke zahtijeva
kontinuirano praćenje, inovacije i suradnju između različitih sektora i zemalja.

Abstract (english)

Road traffic significantly contributes to noise emission in urban areas, which has
serious impacts on the environment and human health. The main sources of noise include
engine sounds, exhaust systems, and tires in contact with the road, with heavier vehicles and
higher speeds producing more intense noise. Regulatory measures and technological
improvements, such as low-noise asphalt surfaces and quiet braking systems, are crucial for
reducing noise levels. However, the implementation of these measures often faces challenges
such as the lack of unified methods for noise assessment and variations in data quality. To
effectively reduce noise caused by road traffic, coordinated action is needed at all levels -
ranging from legislative and regulatory measures to urban planning and the application of new
technologies. Although there are positive examples, such as the redesign of urban streets and
the development of quiet vehicles, addressing the noise problem in the long term requires
continuous monitoring, innovation, and collaboration among different sectors and countries.
