Abstract
Potreba za većim brzinama prijenosa podataka donijela je brži razvoj treće generacije mobilnih sustava. Razvojem novog sučelja otvorile su se nove mogućnosti za mobilne multimedijalne usluge, odnosno, cilj treće generacije je pomaknuti težište mobilne telefonije s govorne na podatkovne usluge. Treća generacija mobilnih mreža nudi korisniku nove, atraktivne usluge poput video poziva ili korištenja mobilnog Interneta s većim brzinama. Ovim radom prikazana je analiza značajki prijenosa podataka paketskim modom u mobilnoj mreži te primjenjivi modeli za dimenzioniranje radio sučelja kod UMTS mreže s posebnim naglaskom na važnost upravljanja radio resursima te opis modeliranja raspodjele resursa u radio sučeljima s obzirom na vrstu kapaciteta mobilnog sustava.

The need for higher data transfer rates has brought rapid development of third-generation systems. The development of new interfaces have opened up new possibilities for mobile multimedia services, in other words, the goal of the third generation is to move the focus of mobile voice to packet services. Third generation of mobile networks offers user a new, attractive services such as video calls, or use mobile Internet with higher speed. This work presents the analysis of the characteristics of data transmission packet mode in the mobile network and applicable models for dimensioning radio interface in UMTS network with particular emphasis on the importance of managing radio resources and a description of modeling the distribution of resources in the radio interfaces based on the type of capacity of mobile systems.
