Trend outsourcinga proizvodnje i nabave materijala započeo je 1980-ih, kada je i nastao pojam „opskrbni lanac“. S tim trendom, velika pažnja počinje se pridavati samom opskrbnom lancu i logistici. U isto vrijeme pojavljuje se veliki napredak u tehnologiji, kao što su EDI, ERP, SCM i SCP sustavi, koji su posljedica pojave masovne prilagodbe opskrbnih lanaca potrebama krajnjih korisnika. The trend of outsourcing production and procurement of materials began in the 1980s, when the term "supply chain" was created. With this trend, supply chain and logistics gets to the center of attention on their own. At the same time experiencing the great advances in technology, such as EDI, ERP, SCM and SCP systems, which are a consequence out of mass adaptation for the needs of end users.
