Abstract
Simulators are a vital part of Air Traffic Controller Training. Croatian Air Traffic Control Training Centre (HUSK) provides Basic training for air traffic controllers at the Faculty of Traffic and Transport Sciences as a part of its undergraduate study program of Aeronautics. As a training facility, it is important to continuously develop used systems and procedures, including the Air Traffic Control (ATC) simulator. ESCAPE ATC simulator meets the conditions for being used at the University... More for training as well as research purposes. The research presented in this paper is based on practical work with the data preparation tool of ESCAPE to acquire knowledge and expertise as well as to develop scenarios for approach and area control exercises. Those exercises are intended to be implemented in the Basic training program provided by HUSK. The results of the research can be used in the future for improving the system and generating additional exercise scenarios, as needed. Less
