Intermodalni transport često se navodi kao alternativno rješenje ublažavanja pritiska cestovnog teretnog prijevoza i zagušenja mreže dok se njegova primjena u praksi u većini slučajeva odnosi na veće udaljenosti (iznad 300 km). Abstract (english)

Intermodal transport is often considered as alternative approach regarding to congestion caused by road freight transport while its implementation in practice in most cases refers to the long distances (over 300 km). Until recently research did not pay much attention to the connection between intermodal (road-rail) transport and urban distribution, relying on a facts that intermodal transport it is not achievable at distances less than 300 km. Intention is to show that the cooperation between intermodal transport and urban distribution is possible.
