Abstract

Potreba za Internetom i mogućnosti koje pruža postali su sastavni dio ljudskoga života. Onakav pristup Internetu, kakav imaju u vlastitim domovima, takav žele gdje god da se nalaze, pa tako i prilikom putovanja zrakoplovom. Mrežni operateri, da bi ispunili zahtjeve korisnika, došli su do načina kako im to omogućiti, a to je pomoću satelitskih komunikacijskih sustava te razvojem četvrte generacije mobilnih mreža (LTE) s air‐to‐ground načinom rada. Time je omogućen pristup Internetu mnogobrojnim putnicima na komercijalnim letovima. U radu je opisana infrastruktura koja omogućava pristup Internetu u zrakoplovima i usluge koje se nude. Trenutno je zadovoljena potreba korisnika za pristupom Internetu u zrakoplovima, ali u skoroj budućnosti se očekuju novi izazovi za mrežne operatere te razvoj usluga koje nude.

Abstract (english)

The need for Internet and the possibilities it offers, have become crucial part of everyday life. The kind of Internet access that people have at their own homes is the same one they want wherever they go, including travelling by airline. To fulfill their costumer needs, service providers came to a solution which is going to provide them that. With the help of satellite communication system, and development of fourth generation mobile network (LTE) air‐toground system has provided Internet access to many passengers on commercial flights. This thesis explains infrastructure which provides Internet access in airlines and services which are provided. The need for Internet access in airlines is contended at the moment, but near future holds new challenges for service providers and development of their services.
