Abstract

Društveni razvoj, poboljšanje kvalitete života kao i energija moderne civilizacije temelji se na fosilnim odnosno konvencionalnim gorivima kao primarnim izvorima. Ograničene količine nafte, svjetska ekonomska kriza, negativne ekološke i klimatske promjene u prirodi te velika eksploatacija fosilnih goriva doveli su do povećane potražnje za alternativnim obnovljivim izvorima energije. U završnom radu detaljno je opisana primjena prirodnog plina te kriteriji za potencijalnu uporabu alternativnih goriva. Navedene su ekološke prednosti i nedostaci prirodnog plina, opisuje se postupak proizvodnje i transporta te rezultati testiranja ZET-ovih autobusa koji su pogonjeni prirodnim plinom. Također se uspoređuje prirodni plin s ostalim alternativnim gorivima prema raznim kriterijima kao što su njihove karakteristike, primjena te njihove prednosti i nedostaci. Nastavak završnog rada odnosi se na razvoj infrastrukture za primjenu alternativnih goriva te je prikazan sustav skladištenja prirodnog plina u Republici Hrvatskoj. Cilj ovog rada je naglasiti da postoje mnoge prednosti prirodnog plina gledano s ekološkog i ekonomskog aspekta u odnosu na fosilna goriva.

Abstract (english)

Social development, improvement of the quality of life as well as the energy of modern civilization are based on fossil or conventional fuels as primary sources. Limited amount of oil, the global economic crisis, negative ecological and climate change in nature, and large exploitation of fossil fuels have led to increased demand for alternative renewable energy sources. In this final paper, the application of natural gas and criteria for the potential use of alternative fuels are described in detail. Ecological advantages and disadvantages of natural gas are listed, the production and transport procedures are described as well as the results of the testing of natural gas powered by ZET buses. Natural gas is also compared with other alternative fuels according to various criteria such as their characteristics, application and their advantages and disadvantages. The final paper follow up is related to the development of infrastructure for the application of alternative fuels, and the system of natural gas storage in the Republic of Croatia is presented. The purpose of this paper is to emphasize that there are many benefits of natural gas from an ecological and economic aspect regarding to fossil fuels.
