Abstract

Bežične LAN mreže sve češćom uporabom postale su standard u povezivanju terminalnih uređaja (računala, mobilnih telefona, tableta i sl.) nudeći jednostavnu primjenu uz zadovoljavajuće brzine, veću mobilnost korisnika, a samim time brži i lakši pristup informacijama uz smanjene troškove. Uz mnoge prednosti bežičnih LAN mreža javlja se i glavni nedostatak, a to je sigurnost. Informacije se prenose zrakom, čime mreža postaje dostupna i izvan organizacije u kojoj se koristi. Kako bi se spriječila mogućnost neovlaštenog korištenja i pristupa mreže, jedna od opcija je uvođenje enkripcije (sigurnosni algoritmi). U ovom radu bit će prikazane osnovne značajke bežičnih LAN tehnologija, IEEE 802.11 i OSI referentni model, arhitektura IEEE 802.11 mreže, vrste IEEE 802.11 standarda, zatim sigurnost 802.11 mreže, te budući trendovi bežičnih tehnologija Li-Fi.Bežične LAN mreže, IEEE 802.11, arhitektura, sigurnost, Li-Fi

Abstract (english)

Wireless LAN networks have become a standard in access networks offering connection for various user's devices, such as computers, mobile phones, and tablets. They offer easy deployment with satisfactory speed, greater mobility of users, and thus faster and easier access to the sources of information with reduced costs. With many advantages there is also a major disadvantage, security issues. With information being transferred over the air interface, it makes the network accessible outside the organization in which it is used. In order to prevent unauthorized network use or access, one option is to use network encryption. This paper will review basic features of wireless LAN technology, IEEE 802.11 and OSI referent model, architecture of IEEE 802.11 network, types of IEEE 802.11 standards and security of 802.11 networks. The paper concludes by giving preview of future trends of wireless technology – Li-Fi.
