Abstract

Bežične komunikacijske mreže predstavljaju važnu komponentu moderne telekomunikacije. Najčešće se klasificiraju prema području pokrivanja odnosno dometu. Kao prijenosni medij, bežične komunikacijske mreže koriste elektromagnetske valove što ih čini podložnim mnogim pojava koje utječu na performanse i sigurnost samih mreža. IEEE 802.11, dominantna WLAN tehnologija, tvori većinu ovoga rada. Uz opis njenih značajki, opisano je i nekoliko lako dostupnih programskih alata za analizu IEEE 802.11 mreža. Korištenjem programskog alata WirelessMON potpomognutim GPS-om izvršena je analiza snage primljenoga signala WLAN mreže na lokaciji ZUK Borongaj. Uz komentar rezultata, predloženo je i nekoliko načina za poboljšanje trenutnoga stanja bežične mreže.

Abstract (english)

Wireless communication networks represent an important component of modern telecommunications networks. Most often they are classified by their area of coverage i.e. range. As a transmission medium, wireless communication networks use electromagnetic waves which makes them susceptible to many phenomena that affect the performances and security of networks. IEEE 802.11, the dominant WLAN technology, forms the majority of this thesis. Along with the description of it features, several easily available software tools for the analysis of IEEE 802.11 are reviewed. By using the software tool named WirelessMON aided by GPS, an analysis of received signal strength of the WLAN network on the premises of ZUK Borongaj was performed. Along with the commentary of the results, a number of ways to improve the current state of the wireless network are proposed.
